That year

If asked to reflect on 2009:

The beginning of 2009 I lost my 80 Gigabyte 2nd Generation iPod Video. That's what stands out to me about the year 2009. My iPod was either stolen or "lost" at the apartment of some former co-workers. If I still had that iPod things would of been slightly different in 2009. I wouldn't have lost my $12 dollar an hour job. Which at the time I thought was shitty pay (because it was and still is) but compared to what I get paid now, it doesn't seem so bad. I would still have my car. Every situation or circumstance that was negative in 2009 would be different. I guess I perceive my iPod's "disappearance" as an omen to the almost overwhelming amount of negative shit that happened in the section in my life labeled 2009.

I'm not trying to denigrate the year 2009 to losing; iPods (I also dropped my girlfriends 2 gigabyte 2nd Generation iPod Nano on the train tracks running for a train in October), my car, and my job. But that's all I can think of when I think about 2009. That fucking year took my music, my transportation, and my livelihood. Fuck that year!!! I'm not even going to say 2009 anymore.

2000
2001
2002
2003
2004
2005
2006
2007
2008
that year,
2010

It's over now.

I'm missing out on Mika Miko's last show ever tonight (as I listen to "We are XuXa"). I hope that's not another bad omen. I'll just consider it a hangover from "that year." 2010 will be awesome! When asked to reflect on this year, only awesome thoughts and images.

2010 4 LIFE!
