What genre of music would you classify Jimi Hendrix?

I've been listening to a lot of him lately and his music sounds kind of "Rockish," but then sometimes it's Funky, and others very Soulful. I don't know but he was one of the greats. That's why he's so popular... I hope. Some people worship his drug use, some worship the way he played the guitar, but him like Bob Marley and Tupac Shakur they always had a bigger message in their music. A message which seems to be overlooked in their icon status, which is pretty sad. You can wear a Jimi Hendrix shirt, with a Tupac bandana, while smoking a Bob Marley joint but their greatest gift to the world was their music and if we all actually listened instead of "Oh yeah I've heard that song before in a movie." Then they'll appreciate it way more than wearing the shirt or bandana, and yes, even smoking the joint. In fact, if we acted as their music instead of as them we'd be way better off, that's showing way more love, admiration, and respect for them than any shirt or poster could....EVER!

Stop smoking your Purple Haze while Jamming to California Love, and really delve into their music. You'll be a better person for it.
