Who's Number One?

Not LSU anymore and not USC, who's it gonna be? This is a clear indictment that the BCS is a joke. You can't rank teams before the season starts. I understand the Coaches Poll, that shows where teams should be based on talent and such and doesn't count toward your ranking in the country. You shouldn't decide who has the best chance of winning the nationaly championship by ranking a team number one before they even play a game (the BCS and AP Poll).

So let's see who'll be number one next week. Most likely it'll be number 3 Ohio State since number 2 CAL lost. This season just proves that there needs to be a playoff system. There is too much parity, this year at least, to conclusively determine a number one team. To decide one off the field is pure foolishness. Any team can win on any given Saturday against any team. This is by far the greatest college football season I've ever witnessed......But I can't help but wonder that is that perception based on where the BCS and AP Poll's placed these teams before they even stepped on the field in 2007? Probably yes.
LSU is still going to the National Championship game. I've said it all year that the championship game is going to be two, one loss teams against each other.

This is the best part of the year; The NBA is about to start, so is College Basketball, Midnight Madness was today at midnight (I don't know what's with the NCAA and aliteration), The MLB playoffs and of course the NFL, I'll even mention the NHL and Nascar. I know too much about NASCAR for not liking that "sport." Just any sports fan's favorite time of the year. I hate the months after the NBA finals and before the start of the NFL season.. Just baseball on TV and on Sportscenter. I can't take it.

Speaking of baseball, as I left the house today I was watching the ALCS the American League Championship Series. I didn't I only watch one baseball game this year and that was when the Mariners came down and played the Angels in Anaheim, but I can't seem to tear myself away for the playoffs. I've been watching since the Divisional Series and I must say the games have been pretty excited. This is the most I've watched baseball in quite awhile I used to watch Mariners games all the time back in high school, and my brother Tory wouldn't miss one, but I got tired of baseball for some reason. Oh yeah Griffey left Seattle. That was the most horrible day in my sports life. Almost as bad as when Shawn Kemp left. Man two idiotic moves by those players. If they would have stayed Griffey would have had 700 hundred homeruns and Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton would probably have a ring. Well I blame the Mariners' and the Sonics' front offices for those idiotic moves, but I'm over it. Watch the playoffs, as I'm typing this the Indians and Red Sox are tied 6-6 in the top of the 10th inning. I'm updating myself with ESPN gamecast since I can't watch the game. Great stuff!

Tomorrow the Seahawks hose the New Orleans Saints. Or 'aints. Who would have thought that the feel good story of last year, more than that an excellent team would start the year 0-5? Well sorry 'aints you'll be 0-6 because the Seahawks don't lose at home. Especially to horrible teams. We have to bounce back from last weeks embarrasment. I still can't believe we were shutout, but forget it. They better get focused. The Arizona Cardinals are starting to look forreal, but they're not winning the division. They still got a year or two. So Seahawks win big, by at least 17 points. I'll say 37-20 most of the Saints points coming in junk time.

I'm worried my fantasy team could lose this week, like it did last week. I lost because of a fluke of a game by the Bills, or should I say Tony Romo. He almost doubled his interception total for the whole year, up to that point, in one game. The Cowboys kicker which my opponent so happen to have scored 16 points while T.O. only had 2. What a joke! The luckiest win ever! EVER! I'm not losing anymore. Forget that. I'm guaranteeing victory tomorrow although I have my doubts.

I'm really diggin' the Ice T - Orginal Gangster album. It's a great listen from front to back, on shuffle, and on repeat. Also The O'Jays - Survival, man oh man genius. Just a brilliant album can't say enough good things about it. Now those were the real "The" groups. The O'Jays, The Temptations, The Chi-Lites, The Ohio Players, The Impressions, and many, many others. They kept the hits rolling and the songs that weren't hits weren't just album fillers like any song that isn't a single today, but they were masterpieces. Just brilliant pieces of work crafted with love, soul, and consciousness.

Happy listening!
