2007 Re-captured. Weird?
Weird is the only word I could use to describe 2007.
This post seems a day too late but I'm going to do it anyway. 2007 started with me kissing my girlfriend at the stroke of midnight. A beautiful beginning to an aberrant year. That's a great word I just used by the way. My vocab is exceedingly vast and my mind is functioning at levels I could never conceive.
2007 was a year that I continued my growth toward wisdom and understanding. As perplexing as this universe is fated to be, understanding seems to be a near impossibility. "Strive to understand anyway," I tell myself. You never know what you can know or discover.
2007 highlights and loathings;
- I get accepted into the worst film school on the planet (LA FILM)
- I move to Los Angeles, CA
- Anthony moves to Los Angeles to go to the same film school
- We both dropout of film school
- Anthony moves back to Seattle
- My Uncle Gerald Gipson dies (RIP I love you)
- Got my license (finally) and bought a car
- Qian moves in with me in August
- My mom moves to Cincinnati, OH
- Jessica, Elaine, Crystal, Tanya, Michelle, Victor, Myron, and Mustafa all visit from Seattle (some not specifically for me but still nice to see them anyway)
- I begin my first semester at Los Angeles City College
- I begin work at Myspace.com
- My Aunt Ruth Gipson-Holmes dies (RIP I love you)
Too many things happened this year. I was also privy (because they weren't known to me) to a few firsts;
- I got my first apartment
- First time living out of state
- First time I swam in the ocean
- First time living on my own
- First time living with a girlfriend
- Bought my first car
It was also my first time going to school and working full time. Something I think I'm going to try again next semester (whether it be LACC or SCCC, Seattle Central Community College). I know what to expect and I think I'm better prepared to eat everything on that very robust plate. Especially with the aberration that my grades weren't as horrid as I believed them to be. I received an A in Espanol, a B in Math 115, and B- in English 101. I don't know what my Psychology grade is yet but I know I failed that class. Still, my grades surpass what I had calculated them to be. That made my New Years Eve. A New Years Eve I spent traveling and working.
I know 2008 is going to be a great year. It's going to be great because I'm going to make sure of it. I wish the same of all of you.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008!
