Tupac Amaru Shakur: RIP June 16, 1971 - September 13, 1996
It's been 12 years. I can't believe it, 12 years? Music hasn't been the same since 'pac was gunned down after a Tyson fight in Las Vegas 12 years ago today. Like him or not Tupac is the most polarizing figure in Hip-Hop everyone has an opinion of him everyone in Hip-Hop today was influenced by his music and has taken something from him. Whether it's his swag (that seems to be the word of the day), his style, or even his delivery. When 'pac's life was taken his genius remained. That's one thing that separates him from any one in Hip-Hop history and places him with the likes of Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, and Bob Marley. He was more than a musician he identified with a generation. Something or someone I can't seem to find in todays music.

My favorite Tupac album is 2pacalypse Now. An awesome and underrated masterpiece. Something 'pac did regularly was make great albums. This album and Strictly For My N.I.G.G.A.Z. are both very underrated, classic albums. All Eyez On Me and Me Against The World get most of the attention, deservedly so but not so much that his two earlier works are overlooked.
