Loss of wisdom yet wiser
At this time your lungs filled
So many years ago
Exhaling youth with each breath

Inhaling beauty with each step
Tears of experience left to flow
Into a somber lake stilled
Knowledge the crier

Time the forgetful liar
Changes your heart willed
Swiftly passing but slow
So much gone but so much left

A presence unkept
This day to let go
Trite wishes concealed
In youthful beauty; live life dire
