Fame and Its Religion

The world's greatest Rockstar died today
Our sun has never beamed hotter
Breathing was more rough
Because the air was much drier than one can remember
Those who talk couldn't say
The reason why they lost their daughter
And those of the strongest will have had enough
Because Rock n' Roll lost its greatest member

The world's greatest Actress has died
No lighting up the silver screen with her pearly whites
Our rain has never fell harder
Floods destroyed towns that stood forever
Those who only told the truth, lied
Centuries of peace became fights
A child lost his father
Because Cinema lost the best ever

The planet's greatest Innovator has passed away
No more making our lives that much more easy
Our snow has never been this high
The roof of the old church has caved
Those who could afford can't pay
Reputable saints turned sleazy
A pregnant mother has died
Because of great Invention we're depraved

Millions have died and are dying
But our weather has never been more perfect or clear
Those exploited have no breath, roof, or smile
The masses worship and kneel at those who don't care
Disregard the lives the famous are relying
For what we lust, we pray a million tears
But only for awhile
Until the next great blinks at death's stare
