Hour Glass

Sand moves foreboding
Towards an end you're loathing
Each grain a moment that passes
Which succeeds or crashes
And as those grains express your age
And the past begins to fade
Many relationships you'll forget
Because you and they wanted it
Your time is almost gone
No relationships fond
Cantankerous, old, and filled with spite
Awaiting Hell's fiery light
Your life almost turned to glass
One grain is all that lasts
Before it hits and joins the rest
And all you know is death
A smile asks you to take a risk
With your heart in hand your life she flips
And breaks the glass and lets the sand pour
And now those sands a loving shore
Where time is passive and dismissed
And our love is all that is ever to exist
