Healing and I Hope It Doesn't Rain

Healing

When you fall and cut your knee
The blood that runs, exposed red
Running down your leg reddening your white socks
Soaking your black sneakers with your life
Asks you for concessions
"Don't get up!"
It tells you to "slow down, to rest and to stop the bleeding
Stop the bleeding!"
You rise and run and run, life numbing your leg
Graceful strides are now burdened steps
The falls severity never registers as you drag yourself
Hoping for healing so you can keep running

I Hope It Doesn't Rain

The Sun is out shining and glaring
Watching the movement of the people underneath
The smiles and the bliss disciplined by the Sun
Showing and staring
Basking in the supremacy it speaks
Dominating the sky blue until the clouds come

I hope it doesn't rain
The clouds have claimed the sky
Moods have drooped like the Fall flowers
And forever stain
A sunny day's lie
Happiness, a promise the rain clouds devour
