Fiction
There's nothing like telling the truth
It isn't as hard as people make it seem
It can be endured and has been
Facts are great barriers to imagination
A real world is seeking real answers
And lies tell stories impossible to perceive
Decidedly obscuring reality's mission
"The dragon is the murderer!" I was once told
"I could not have committed those crimes
I was with a pixie at the time
What time was that you ask?
It was the time the ocean sank
We both had to walk the plank
So ask the pirates, they'll tell you
That dagger in evidence isn't mine!
Neither could the pixie's wand have been used
Because by our own weapons we were subdued
The threat of the dagger's blade sent me into the ocean
As did the wand to the pixie, scared
Challenge the pirates we would never dare
The dragon is the murderer, believe me!
Dragons breathe fire
And the victim was charred
Dragons have sharp teeth, large
Although the same size as my blade
My dagger was in my back
And not murdering some poor sap
It was the dragon I tell you, the dragon
Leave the pixie alone
Dragons can also fly
And I've already given you our alibi
So the long fall that the victim took
Only to crash in the middle of that meadow
Had to take strength, you know?
So leave the pixie's wings alone!"
That's what he told me
This morbid villain told me that a dragon had done it
This child was stabbed 28 times and then set on fire
We found his dagger drenched in their blood
That meadow was underneath the cliff
That the innocent body was thrown in
Found by a couple hiking
His story was true, he'd insist
I wish pixies and dragons did exist
For some horrors should only be of imagination
And not simply experience and its replication
Haunted forever by this victim
How I wish some monster's were fiction
It isn't as hard as people make it seem
It can be endured and has been
