Suffer in Peace and None or 1,000,001
Suffer in Peace
There quietly
On the living room floor
A young boy sits
He hears the slamming of doors
A lot of shouting and screaming
The television can’t get any louder
He looks indifferent
This is normal to him
Glass breaking and holes in the wall
A lot of tears running like a lot of blood
But the boy sits stoically
He doesn’t slouch, his back is strong
He laughs when Spongebob asks
The young boy just sits and laughs and laughs
At the television and the turmoil
None or 1,000,001
“I would like a beer, please. Cheapest on tap.”
I don’t have much money
Why do I do this to myself?
I know one leads to many more
I know I have a problem
This time I’m only going to have one
“Thank you.”
…
Maybe I’ll have one more
Two is a good amount
Two and then I’m done
Two and then I’m done
