The "Like" Button and Taking the Stage

Howdy everyone! I have been working hard to produce my first line of t-shirts and beanies. I just really want to be able to wear shirts that I would enjoy wearing. There are brands out there that have my respect but I believe that it would be too fucking awesome to wear my own shit. I want to share that, like I do my poetry, with everyone. I know that support is hard to garner, even from the people you consider friends, even from your family but those who have supported my efforts are very much appreciated. Thank you so much! Taking the Stage

   I have witnessed many people take the stage

   Faux actors and actresses and models vying for fame

   To be trending or liked

   And just like the professionals

   They only perform for the camera

6  I used to believe that people have always been awful

   And mourned that cameras were pointed at every single one

   But now I know that some people are simply performing

   For validation and insecurity and once again for fame

   So many women trying to look the same

   Enhancing their assets so they feel good about their pictures

12 Every woman isn't born with a big ass or big tits

   But now they all have them

   Disregarding the only characteristics that matter in work and in love

   Character, heart, mind and personality

   Denying their better judgement

   The men are much worse

18 Not only do they encourage women to act and look a certain way

   They degrade them for doing so

   Both of them fighting only when the camera is turned on

   Always against a defenseless opponent who didn't know

   That physical confrontation was imminent

   Both feigning heartlessness and callousness

24 Treating death like they are immortal

   The whole world isn't a stage

   Acting isn't an art form forced upon the human condition

   Every human should not and still doesn't share the same wants and beliefs

   Not everyone thinks that the body is something to disfigure for comfort

   Despite the many surgeons who would have you think differently

30 Everyone doesn't enjoy a fight or a horrible act inflicted upon someone innocent

   That I am not

   But still, stop performing
