Talkin' East Los Angeles Blues, Reaction, and I'm Trying

Talkin' East Los Angeles Blues

A few hours ago a crazy dream came to me
I dreamt I was looking for love number three
Awake I did, alone and sweatin'
Ran to the mirror and saw my reflection
He said tell me about her
6  My mouth wide in awesome awe
Again he asked about this third lover's law
I thought of words to describe her decree
But I was exhausted by another error, again a gaffe, fallacy
Dumbfound by another attempt, what astute verve
The reflection stared and asked this
12 In this dream did this third love exist?
  No
  Back to sleep I go

Reaction

  Peril
  That's the journey
How do you deal with peril?
How do you weigh your expectations with reality?
NOTE: Reality is circumstantial and delusional
6  All of these beautiful illusions
  When your plans go awry
When you know you have to change
When you recognize that you have to leave
  What do you do?
Some people continue the same path
12 And repeat what they have ornamented
  Happily
  They enjoy it
  Others digress
Some more get better and improve
NOTE: Improvement is circumstantial and delusional
18 Maybe you find someone better
  You lose weight
  You make more money
Or maybe you descend into whores and drugs
Cocaine and pussy, alcohol and more pussy
  You have another child
24 You pretend to be in love again
  Or you're just having fun
  You grow
  NOTE: Things that grow die
  Yeah, that's the proper reaction
  You grow
  When adversity strikes, you grow
30 NOTE: ...

I'm Trying

I tried to think good
"Things will be okay, I'll see"
No they won't, dumb ass
