I Hate Disneyland and Afflated

I Hate Disneyland 

  I've never been to Disneyland

  But I hate it

  Truly, I hate it 

  It doesn't make any sense to me 

  I know it's escapism

6  And how we should escape

  This completely fabricated universe

  A reality created by a man and his corrupt team

  Transfixed in irrational bliss...

  "Who ruined your childhood?

  You must have had a sad childhood.

12 Who doesn't love Disneyland?" 

  Who is the one still trying to relive their youth?

  Now, this is me being my most cynical

  Why is it a big deal?

  Why can't I just go to Disneyland and have a good time?

  Why can't I just go to Tokyo, or Hong Kong, or Paris

18 And enjoy their Disneyland?

  Why can't I traverse the Disney world? 

  Why can't I enjoy it for my love?

  Why can't I have an amazing time for my son?

  How can I hate somewhere I've never been?

  A destination with rave reviews 

24 A place that creates no frowns

  Where sorrow drowns 

  It may be because I've never had time

  Or maybe I'm not fond of Disney movies 

  Or music and the reality they create

  The lessons and beliefs and love they force us to believe

30 The tragedy that always creates worth and purpose

  I hate the formula Disney devised for happiness
  I hate that happiness is always an escape

  And not what is
  "Hi, Mickey!" 

Afflated 

  I never thought I'd write again
  For weeks I think they were
  For months it could have been
  Words weren't here
  I'm writing because of you
