Self-Medicate and True Beauty
Self-Medicate
The social worker, the therapist and the psychiatrist are worried
They fear that I will self-medicate
They don't want me to deal with life's flurries
With alcohol, weed, cocaine and other illicit drugs
They want to give me their drugs in a hurry
My fragile temperament and glum disposition
Only their medicine should cure my lethargy
Do not self-medicate they insist
Again, "take our drugs in a hurry!"
Maybe they'll harm me and maybe they won't
"Your life better lived if because of our drugs you're buried"
True Beauty
A child wept
A mother cried
A father shed a tear
The family was sad
It was beautiful
Because soon
They'd smile
