A Psychic Died

A Psychic Died

A Psychic walks down a winding road
She knows where each step is going to land
Every step gets her nearer to her abode
At her doorstep she stands

She sees something that she thought to be terrible
She smiles
For she knew that her death was inevitable
Not from old age but from danger's guile

She turns the key and enters to see
The danger she knew would be her demise
Her home in disarray, she knew he couldn't let her be
The famous paintings that adorned her walls lived in his murderous eyes

The court told him that no one was at fault
When his daughter died
And the Psychic knows whose guilt to exalt
And on the stand lied

She knew how he was going to kill her
What he would say whilst pummeling her for information
He's going to mar and maim her
She knew she would never give that identification

She knew she would keep smiling, she would be laughing
Because she knew what he thought was untrue
He will say "You're not a Psychic. You don't know the future, you're acting."
She saw his future and knew this is a day that he would truly rue

His daughter's death will never be avenged
And he's going to die naturally in prison
And she is only happy that her life will end
And be glad her murder was not her mission

For she knew this day would come her entire life
As a child she knew she would be murdered
But dreamed of dying of old age
As a teen she knew she would be murdered

But still dreamed of dying of old age
She used her gift to help others become knowledgeable of death
She was never wrong
It kept her from feeling trapped; it eased her breath

She loved to help others get relief from death's song
Such a beautiful song, haunting and unrelenting that plays forever
Forever it plays
So her time was occupied with her own death, never

She never truly thought about her dying day
Predict someone's death, then return home
Like she did today
"Why did you let her die in vain?" the man moaned

"I killed her! I killed her!" the Psychic yelled
"Kill me now! Beat me, put your hands around my neck!
Since your birth my death you have hailed!
Kill me now, out of respect!"
