POETRY: The Timeline and A Cat In Pain

The Timeline

It's hard for me to adjust to time
Or to the times
Time in the manner that I write when I should be asleep
I work when I should be working and when I should be resting
I sleep when I should be spending time with my family
These times have been forged by a series of events
Time frozen, events mark time periods like a personal assault
You remember everything about the person who assaulted you
Freezing that moment in time as some marker for enlightenment as some forced change
Time does not work that way
And I find it difficult to work that way too
I am not tracking the sun and moving in unison
The moon is not my ruler
To time I am not beholden
To the times neither
Maybe I'm living centuries ago
Attempting to revive archaic artforms
Truly attempting to investigate the world around me
I am the truly illuminated I understand that knowledge and wisdom cannot be obtained
But they still must be sought
There is no time to do that, there is no time to work, there is no time to think or have thoughts
But you must react now. You must do now. Think later, act now.
There are no other moments because time is fragile but to the timeline, we must adhere
I'm doing my best to adhere to the timeline
I will comply

A Cat In Pain

Meow, meow, me-
"Thank you for ending that, please."
Meow, meow, me-
