The Reality We Cannot Manufacture

It's hard to deal with the real world. I understand that wholeheartedly (with all my heart, holy shit!) that is why sometimes we need to escape. We escape into video games, drugs and alcohol, sex, and the internet. What is happening today is that people are making the "real world" more difficult to appease the social media escape. The haven for absolution is needed because the real world is too tough. There must be another reality a fourth or fifth or sixth dimension. The ethereal escaped to is supposed to be a personally curated paradise, where all bad feelings and negative thoughts cannot thrive, where you can be who or whatever you want to be with no account for anyone but yourself and your doppleganger or your avatar. When that paradise, that escapist's heaven is far worse than the reality ignored the paradise must be ordered to the detriment of the real world. In fact, the place where they tried to escape is made more chaotic and disorderly. 

An unscathed, unharmed journey into the ethereal, into the simulation, is so desired that when the place is not the felicity they expected, cognitive dissonance is activated in the psyche like a fire retardant system or they become theoretically violent in the demand for a space curated simply for happiness. The space should behave to a standardized sensibility. A standard simply based upon theoretical interpretations of the expanse, not on the reality of the real world or the online space. You cannot escape reality. Instead of understanding that they must trek back to the real world and order it, they leave it abandoned, unguarded to attempt to order the ethereal which cannot be ordered. The space is too vast but easily succumbs to influence. That is why the people expecting the escape to be nirvana or serenity call for a real-world authority to force online order. The travelers need authority to absolve all they feel in the ethereal so that they can also feel good in reality. 

When suicide and depression and mental health issues drown the real world we don't realize that we should have and still could turn back now and deny the lust for this evasion. That's all it is. A distraction from personal self-reflection and an inward journey to discover a true identity in the context of not only community but the whole of society. The focus has been on building an avatar for a cartoon world, not building character, for the real one.
